In 2011 we demonstrated the huge potential of re-utilization of oil/gas wells for geothermal heat extraction. The Middenmeer gasfield was selected for a case study and was carefully developed. Subsequently, we investigated different methods to combine the production of hydrocarbons and geothermal heat at a single project for the state-owned company EBN.
